Pakistan Active for Resolution of Kashmir Dispute

Major General Rashid Qureshi, Press Secretary to Pakistani Chief Executive Pervez Musharraf, Friday indicated that time and again Pakistan has made efforts to resolve the Kashmir issue but it is India which has always been giving cold shouldered response, according to a report by the Associated Press of Pakistan.

Briefing some reporters in Rawalpindi south of Islamabad, Rashid said Pakistan has been showing maximum restraint on the Line of Control (LoC) and has initiated various measures to bring peace to the sub-continent.

He stressed that Musharraf on many occasions expressed his readiness to hold dialogue with India at any time and at any place while, as concrete steps to move forward in this direction, reducing the troops deployed in Kashmir unilaterally.

Commenting on the Indian attitude towards the cause of Kashmir, he said, the move to send a delegation of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) to Pakistan has yet to be given final shape by the Indian authorities.
