Chinese Leader Meets Model Women WorkersThe All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) held a meeting here today to mark International Women's Day, and granted awards to the Top Ten Women Model Workers in the country.Wei Jianxing, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, attended the meeting. Wei, also president of the ACFTU, presented the awards to the women model workers. The women model workers, all from the grassroots, were selected from national model workers of the year 2000. |
