Shandong Province, a major agricultural production base on the east coast of China, topped the country in terms of export of agricultural products last year with 18 percent of the total exports.
A total of 2.8 billion US dollars worth of agricultural products were exported, jumping 28 percent over that of the previous year.
Major items for export include aquatic products, vegetables, peanuts and relevant products, and frozen chicken, all of which accounted to over 30 percent of the total exported in the country.
Most noted of all, Shandong's exports of the above categories to the United States rose by 50 percent last year.
