CPPCC Makes Important Contributions to 10th Five-Year Plan
Proposals raised by members of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) have made important contributions to the drafting of China's 10th Five-Year Plan, a spokesman for the country's top advisory body, the CPPCC National Committee, said Friday.
The CPPCC National Committee raised 136 amendments and proposals for the plan during a pooling of public opinions, of which 58 have been adopted by the authorities, spokesman Qi Huaiyuan said at a press conference here.
More recently, CPPCC members in Beijing held a special meeting to discuss the draft of the Five-Year Plan, and raised proposals concerning 12 major issues.
Contributing proposals to the national plan for economy and social development has become an important channel for CPPCC members to take part in national political affairs, while the adoption of CPPCC proposals by the authorities is proof of the spirit of political consultation on key issues, the spokesman said.
