China, Nigeria to Strengthen TiesChina attaches great importance to developing friendly ties with Nigeria and other African countries and wishes to push ahead Sino-Nigerian cooperation in all sectors, said Chinese State Councilor Ismail Amat to Dubem Onyia, minister of state for foreign affairs of Nigeria.Ismail Amat said China and Nigeria enjoy a traditional friendship, and bilateral cooperation has experienced smooth development in recent years. Onyia's present China visit has shown that the Nigerian government attaches importance to the development of all-round cooperation with China, he said. Ismail Amat also briefed the guests on China's reform and opening up, its economy and the development of its west. Onyia and his delegation are here at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (MOFTEC). During his visit, he co-chaired the fourth meeting of China- Nigeria Mixed Committee on Trade and Economic Cooperation with MOFTEC and met with officials from other administrations. Present at Friday's meeting were MOFTEC's Vice Minister Sun Guangxiang and Nigerian ambassador to China Olagunju Adesakin.
