People's Daily Online Launches Online NPC and CPPCC Sessions

As the 4th session of the 9th National People's Congress (NPC) and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) are fast approaching, People's Daily Online Chinese Edition (http://www.people.com.cn) has launched 2001 NPC and CPPCC session features since the 1st of March. To show the grand occasion of the millennium to the world from diversified angles, the online report falls into three special topics of its data materials in history, latest news report and proactive exchanges between net-users comprising a total of 31 columns.

The 8-part data center offers numerous references, including the history concerning the two sessions, laws and regulations (collected after 1950), the Five-year Plans, two sessions in local areas, the NPC and some other data in millions of words all told.

Put on the agenda are the live reports and activities of the two sessions, including the Latest News, Report, Officials Focus, Speeches and Proposals, Press Conferences, Hot Topics, Audio & Video, Photos, etc.

Moreover, the news reports can be further divided into two categories, i.e. readers can search for what they want by different delegations and alignments.

News of the two sessions will be launched as well in English, Japanese, French and Spanish versions
