Indian Defense Budget Increase Upsets Regional Instability
Pakistan Thursday expressed its deep concern at the hike of
India
n total defense budget and warned that it would upset the security environment in South Asia.
Speaking in an interview to Pakistan Television (PTV), Pakistani Foreign Office Spokesman Riaz Muhammad Khan said the substantial increase in India's military budget of 28 percent last year and 14 percent this year and its massive acquisitions of military hardware naturally become a matter of deep concern for Pakistan.
The expansion of Indian military force which is about 40 percent over a span of two years not only reflects India's regional ambitions but is also a recipe for instability in the region, added Riaz.
He asked the world community to take serious notice of Indian massive arms build-up.
