China's Most Complete Plant Picture Album Published
The Horticultural Encyclopaedia of '99 Kunming International Horticultural Exposition was published by the Chinese Forestry Publishing House on February 28. This plant picture album is the most complete one in so far as the plant species it covers is concerned.
The picture album is reported to have comprised of three parts with over 6,400 pictures and more than 800,000 words in it. It is of a high sci-tech value for it embraces a collection of almost 3,000 species of plant, including trees, flowers, common plants, bamboo, fruits, and vegetables. Among them flowers count for nearly 1,200 kinds of 173 families, over 320 being rare plants in China with dozens of them not recorded in China's rare plant protection list.
