CPPCC Fully Plays Consultative Role to Decision-Making

The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) has played an important role in advising and helping governments at all levels to make decisions.

The Ninth National Committee of the CPPCC offered more than 100 suggestions after carefully studying the 10th Five-Year (2001-2005) draft plan on national economic and social development submitted by the State Development Planning Commission last December. Most of their proposals were adopted.

As the country's top advisory body, the CPPCC boasts prominent people from all works of life.

The Ninth National Committee of the CPPCC submitted practical advice on such major issues as developing the west and making plans for the 10th Five-Year Plan, based on thorough and careful investigation.
