China Punctual in Giving out Retirement Pension

Latest statistics show that about 99.3 percent of retirement pension was distributed punctually across the country last year.

A total of 186.9 billion yuan (US$22.52 billion) of retirement pension was given out. Eight provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions including Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, the Tibet Autonomous Region and the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region gave out pensions timely and on a monthly basis.

Meanwhile, about 92.2 percent of retirement pension, up 44 percentage points than the previous year, were distributed through post offices and banks.

More and more Chinese have resorted to insurance. People who have retirement insurance and unemployment insurance both exceeded 100 million in number.
