Vietnam Denounces US Interfering in Other Countries'Internal Affairs

Vietnam Tuesday denounced US taking advantage of human rights to interfere in other countries' internal affairs.

Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Phan Thuy Thanh commented on the Country Reports on Human Rights Practices - 2000 issued Monday by the US State Department, saying that the United States every year giving itself a right to judge the human rights situations of other countries is an act of interfering the internal affairs of other countries.

The act goes counter to the United Nations Charter and is obviously unacceptable, Thanh stressed.

He noted that some views in the reports are not objective and are contrary to facts, arousing indignant feeling in the Vietnamese people.
