China Lifts Ban on Import of Uruguay's Cloven-footed Animals & Products

China has lately lifted the prohibition on imports of cloven-footed animals and relevant products from Uruguay.

The ban was imposed by the State Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection Quarantine when a foot-and-mouth disease broke out last October in the Oriental Republic of Uruguay.

Thanks to strict and prompt measures taken, Uruguay has entirely stamped out the epidemic, and been confirmed January 25 as a country rid of the disease by World Organization for Animal Health.

So the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Administration for Entry-Exit Inspection Quarantine jointly announced the decision to lift the ban.
