President Jiang Zemin Tuesday called for the common development of all Asian countries. Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia, Jiang said,"Let us join hands and work vigorously for the common development of all Asian countries, for enhanced exchanges and cooperation between Asia and the rest of the world, and for a prosperous, strong and better Asia."

Second Chinese Miss Net Crowned

Jiang Jing(R), student of Tsinghua University, won the final of Chinese Miss Net out of 29 young women from China's mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in addition to North America. Zhonghui(L) and Yu Xiaonan, Miss Net of Shanghai and Hubei, ranked second and third.
