Hainan Governor Meets Nepalese King

Governor of Hainan Province Wang Xiaofeng met in this provincial capital Monday with Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, king of Nepal.

Wang briefed the king and his party on the natural resources, society and economy of Hainan, and noted that Nepal and Hainan enjoy favorable conditions for expanding agriculture and tourism, and said that he hoped that the two sides would promote cooperation in this regard.

Wang also mentioned the preparatory work of the Boao Forum for Asia, to be established tomorrow.

King Birendra said that Hainan will play more important in Asia after the forum is set up, and more Nepalese will get to know about Hainan.

Zeng Xuyong, Chinese ambassador to Nepal, and Han Zhizhong, Hainan's deputy governor, attended the meeting.

The Nepalese king is in Hainan to attend the inauguration of Boao Forum for Asia, which is slated for Tuesday.
