Ltd.The service will be put into use in Guangzhou by then. This marks a historical step forward for China Telecom from traditional voice telephone era to visible Chinese character information communication. As introduced the user may enjoy this new business only by using a new type of telephone that is able to receive short messages or simply installing a short message receiver on the old telephone. And the long-distance short message business will also be developed in the near future. With this technology, the fixed telephone users may transmit and receive Chinese and English short messages, be noticed to receive emails from the Internet, order all kinds of information, link to Internet, get account information of telephone rate, and to get in touch with the mobile telecom short message center. Yin Peisheng, deputy director of Guangzhou Telecom said that this new telephone terminal could also be used to input Chinese characters and send a short-message to at least 50 telephone users simultaneously.
