Foreign Statesmen Appreciate China's Efforts for Boao Forum

Former state leaders from many parts of Asia, as well as Australia, Monday expressed their appreciation for the efforts the Chinese Government has made for the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA).

Robert James Lee Hawke, former Prime Minister of Australia, told a press conference here Monday that the decision to chose Boao as the forum's venue had been proven correct, according to what he saw here.

Ajit Singh, secretary-general of the BFA, told a Xinhua correspondent that he was impressed by the high efficiency and perfect preparations of the Chinese government.

"There were a lot of things to do last November, when we decided to hold the Establishment Conference of the BFA this month, and now we have everything we want," Singh said.

"I believe that the local people here have never received so many foreigners," Singh added, "and yet they do make us happy and comfortable with their warmheartedness."

Sergey Terechshenko, former prime minister of Kazakhstan, said that he was very pleased to attend the conference and that what the Chinese Government has done is satisfactory.
