President Jiang Attends Asia Forum Banquet
President Jiang Zemin attended a welcome banquet Monday hosted by the provincial government of Hainan for guests to the Boao Forum for Asia.
Vice Premier Qian Qichen, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Chen Jinhua, Malaysian Prime Minister Ddatuk Seri Mahathir Bin Mohamad, former Australian Prime Minister Robert Hawke, former Japanese Prime Minister Yasuhiro Nakasone, and former Filipino President Fidel Ramos were present at the occasion.
Du Qinglin, secretary of the Communist Party of China Hainan Provincial Committee, gave a welcome speech at the banquet on behalf of the Hainan provincial government.
