Nepalese King Arrives in Hainan for China Visit

Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, king of Nepal, arrived in Haikou Monday afternoon for a seven-day state visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Jiang Zemin.

The Nepalese king is also scheduled to attend the founding ceremony of the Boao Forum for Asia Tuesday at Boao, a small town some 160 kilometers south of Haikou, capital of Hainan Province.

During his stay in Hainan, the king will visit factories and farms, and meet with local entrepreneurs.

Deputy Governor of Hainan Han Zhizhong greeted the king at the airport.

The king will also visit Beijing and Shanghai.
