Second Chinese Miss Net Crowned


Second Chinese Miss Net Crowned
Taking the theme "New Economy, New Women and New life", the second Chinese Miss Net of Third China Internet Contest was concluded in Beijing on February 26, 2001.

Jiang Jing, student of Tsinghua University, won the final of Chinese Miss Net out of 29 young women from China's mainland, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in addition to North America. Zhonghui and Yu Xiaonan, Miss Net of Shanghai and Hubei, ranked second and third.

The contest for the second Chinese Miss Net was a part of the Third China Internet Contest to raise the level of young Chinese women's Internet knowledge, attract more Chinese women to "touch" the Internet, and show the new images of young Chinese women in the 21st Century. Any Chinese woman, at age 18-35 who has some knowledge about Internet and related applications, can sign up for the contest on the website www.ctc.net.cn . After online tests, public online ballots and regional contest, provincial and municipal champions will be qualified for the final. Internet related knowledge, ability to use the Internet and comprehensive ability are three major evaluation aspects of the contest. The final of the contest was broadcast both on TV and the Internet.
