Macao Has 130,000 Internet Users: Survey

The number of Internet users has reached 130,000 in Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR), and most of them are young people, according to a recent survey.

The survey shows that 60.7 percent of the Macao people have computers and 70 percent of the computers have accession to the Internet; nearly 80 percent of the people will join the Internet at home and the rest will choose their companies, schools, libraries or other places.

The Internet users aged between 15 and 29 make up more than 70 percent; those between 15 and 19 account for 40 percent.

These people spent 10.4 hours on average on the Internet each week, mainly reading news, entertainment events, academic development and tourist information; 27.1 of the them spent more

than 12 hours each week, according to the survey.
