Three More Earthquakes Hit El Salvador

Salvadorean authorities said three earthquakes of moderate magnitude rocked the country on Saturday, causing minor landslides but no casualties.

The tremors were 5.5, 5.4 and 4.5 degrees on the Richter scale and the epicenter was located in the San Salvador metropolitan area, said reports from San Salvador, the Salvadorean capital.

The first quake took place at 10:42 local time and the two others followed in less than two minutes.

Landslides occurred in the Balsamo mountain range near Santa Tecla, 20 kilometers east of San Salvador.

A devastating earthquake on January 13 killed 827 people and another one on February 13 left 311 people dead.
