The Security Council of the United Nations has passed a solution concerning the conflicts in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), which requires the conflicting sides in DRC to withdraw the troops in two weeks after March 15. Meanwhile, UN will send more peace-keeping troops to the relative regions.

UN Decides to Send More Peace-keeping Troops to DRC

Shen Guofang(C), China's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, votes for the solution concerning the conflicts in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) in the Security Council of the UN in New York on February 22, 2001. The solution requires the conflicting sides in DRC to withdraw the troops in two weeks after March 15, and the UN will send more peace-keeping troops to the relative regions as well. China will have ten soilders participate in the peace-keeping action.
