Officials of the governments of central China's Hubei Province and this provincial capital city Wuhan Friday laid a wreath at the Monument to the Martyrs of the Soviet Union's Aair Force Volunteers who helped China during the War Against Japanese Aggression (1937-1945).

The commemoration ceremony was held in Hankou Liberation Park. Gao Ruike, deputy governor of Hubei, and Yin Zengtao, deputy mayor of Wuhan, attended the ceremony, on behalf of their governments and the Hubei Provincial Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

Some middle school students also attended the ceremony, and took an oath for joining the Communist Youth League of China.
