All-China Women's Federation Stresses Protecting Children Against Cult
The All-China Women's Federation Friday called on a joint effort from the whole of society to protect children's rights of survival and development and protect them against the harm of Falun Gong cult.
The federation condemned the evil deeds of Falun Gong cult, which, like cults in the United States, Europe and Japan, victimizes children for their malicious political purpose.
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Children stipulates that each child has the living right and children's rights of survival and development should be protected.
Falun Gong, led by Li Hongzhi, in defiance of the international principle, held classes for children, fabricating a "heaven" made of gold. Under the cheat of the cult, 12-year-old Liu Siying and 19-year-old Chen Guo set fire on themselves and destroyed their future, the federation pointed out.
This is not only a savage trample on children's rights of survival and development and persecution of children's spirit and body, but also an open disdain and challenge to international principles, said the federation.
According to China's law on protecting the minors, parents should educate the minors with healthy thoughts and morality. However, Falun Gong-obsessed parents spoil their children with false reasoning and heretical ideas. They have lost their qualification of guardians, said the federation, adding that the mothers of Chen Guo and Liu Siying should be punished according to law.
The suicidal blaze of two mothers and their daughters in the Tian'anmen Square on Jan. 23 proved the significance of education and protection of children, which needs a joint effort of families, schools and the whole society.
