Wuhan to Build Garbage Treatment Plant with Netherlands Loans

The Environmental Protection Bureau of this capital city of central China's Hubei Province will undertake a garbage treatment plant project, using loans from the Netherlands Government.

The project will involve a total investment of 134 million yuan (about US$16.15 million).

The Netherlands Government will provide 9.4 million Euros (82.67 million yuan) in mixed loans for the project. Sixty percent of the loans will come from contributions by the Netherlands Government by supplying technology and equipment, and the rest will be commercial loans.

The Wuhan City Government will raise a total of 51.85 million yuan for the project.

The 23-hectare plant will be built in Jiaxia District and will integrate garbage cleaning, collection, transport and treatment.

It is designed to treat 800 tons of garbage produced from daily life and 250 tons of sewage per day.
