Dongguan Forges Sister-city Relations With Hartford
This economic spearhead in south China's Guangdong Province forged a sister-city relationship with Hartford, capital of the US State of Connecticut, Thursday.
After signing the sister-city agreement, Mayor of Dongguan Dong Xing and Mayor of Hartford Michael Peters vowed to promote cooperation between the two cities in the fields of industry, trade, technology, education and culture.
With a history of over 300 years, Hartford boasts advanced service industry and thriving foreign trade. Known for its famous universities, including Yale, Hartford is also the headquarters of most US leading insurance companies.
Meanwhile, Dongguan, by registering an average GDP growth of 22 percent over the past 22 years, has become one of the most vigorous cities in China.
