VISA Opens Super ATM on Shanghai's Bund
A super ATM was jointly opened by Visa International and Bank of Shanghai, a local stock-holding bank, Thursday on Shanghai's Bund, the most famous tourist attraction in the metropolis.
Xiong Anping, vice-chairman and China regional general manager of Visa International, said that the ATM is the first of its kind to be opened at a scenic spot in the Chinese mainland. There are only six other such ATMs in China -- at airports in the cities of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and Kunming, and Luohu Port in Shenzhen.
Visa's super ATM is able to handle not only networked money link and credit cards in China but VISA and Master foreign currency cards. The machine operates 24 hours a day.
