Tianjin Alstom Signs 70-Million-Yuan Contract in SW ChinaTianjin Alstom Hydro Co., Ltd. Thursday signed a 70-million-yuan contract with Wujiangdu Hydropower Development Corporation in Guizhou Province, southwest China.Under the contract, Tianjin Alstom will help rehabilitate three hydro turbine generators for Wujiangdu, increasing the capacity of each generator from 210MW to 250MW. Wujiangdu Hydropower Station, the largest in this resources- rich province, is a key project of China's magnificent plan to transmit electricity from the west to the economically developed eastern coast. With the completion of all its big power projects, Guizhou will have a 10-million-KW installed capacity for the power transmission project. China's strategy of "developing the west" has provided great opportunities for Tianjin Alstom, said an official from the company. It is now actively participating in other hydropower projects in other provinces and autonomous regions in China, such as Qinghai and Guangxi.
