Slovenia, China to Further Develop Economic, Trade CooperationChinese State Councilor Wu Yi and Slovenian Economy Minister Tea Petrin agreed Wednesday that the two countries will further develop economic and trade cooperation between them.During the talks with Petrin, Wu, who arrived here earlier in the day for a visit, said the aim of her trip to this Balkan country was to study the possibility of expanding bilateral relations, especially economic and trade cooperation between the two countries. Saying that China encourages its entrepreneurs to increase investment in Slovenia, Wu added that Slovenian businessmen are also welcome to penetrate the Chinese market. She also said China respects Slovenia's choice of its road of development in the light of its own specific conditions, and understands and supports Slovenia's efforts to join the European Union (EU). Petrin said the ever growing bilateral relations in recent years have laid a solid foundation for bilateral economic and trade cooperation and that Slovenia is willing to strengthen the trade and economic links between the two countries. Petrin also said her country backs China's membership of the World Trade Organization (WTO). Slovenia is the fourth stop of an 18-day five-nation East European tour, during which Wu has already visit Slovakia, Hungary and Croatia. From Slovenia, she will travel on to Romania. |
