Yellow Mountain Hot in Winter

The world-renowned scenic spot of the Yellow Mountain, which usually attracts tourists in the summer, embraced unprecedented number of tourists this winter who swarmed there to admire its magnificent snow landscape.

It was estimated that nearly 100,000 tourists visited the Yellow Mountain since the beginning of this year, of which 20,000 came around the Spring Festival, thanks to an advertisement campaign by the local government.

Manager of the Beihai Hotel, located on the mountain, said that only 15 percent of the rooms were vacant during the Spring Festival.

The Yellow Mountain has a peculiar climate as it is nearly a thousand meters higher than neighboring regions. As a result, it was frequently capped with snow in the winter to form splendid views.

Besides, snow fog, which is even rare to appear in the north part of China, often turns up here in winter when it clears up.

The snow fog would float around the pine trees like in a fairyland.

Local government has also taken precautions to exempt travelers from safety worries brought on by snowy weather.
