China to Host 6th World Cup Robot Soccer Match

The 6th World Cup Robot Soccer Match is to be held August 1 to 5 at China Science and Technology Museum in Beijing.

Co-sponsored by the Chinese Robot Soccer Association, China Science and Technology Museum, Automation Institution under the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Harbin Industry University, the Match has attracted over a hundred teams from 14 to 20 countries to participate in.

The event is a hi-tech match involving many sophisticated fields as artificial intelligence, automation, communications, sensing, precision machinery, and bionic materials. China once won the fifth place at the fourth event and has advanced much in recent years.

The Match originated from Asia and in 1996 an international alliance FIRA was set up to begin to organize such events in different countries every year. The former five events were held respectively in ROK, Japan, France, Brazil and Australia.
