Discipline Inspection Department Retrieved an Economic Loss of 3.5 Billion Yuan

The 2001 Working Conference for Discipline Inspection and Supervision of Central Enterprises was held in Beijing February 21. The conference called for the taking of effective measures to nip in the bud the negative corruption in State-Owned Enterprises (SOE).

Also reported is that the discipline inspection and supervision department of central enterprises, has received over one year in the past 10,829 cases, of which 6,057 cases were initially verified, 2,856 cases filed and 1,874 settled with 2920 persons given the disciplinary and administrative punishment and 252 handed over the judicial organs, thereby retrieving a loss of over 2.1 billion yuan. Besides, it has also sorted out 1,019 clues of cases and 2.31-billion-yuan illegal money with 1.41-billion-yuan of direct economic loss redeemed through efficiency supervision.
