Ancient Pottery Exhibition Opens in North China

Over 500 pieces of ancient pottery were put on display at the Inner Mongolia Museum Monday in Hohhot.

Some of them date back as far as 10,000 years.

Jiao Xuedai, director of the Culture Bureau of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, said that the museum has so far collected over 500,000 pieces of cultural relics, nearly one-third of which consist of pottery.

The exhibition showcases the best of over 200,000 pieces of ancient pottery preserved in Inner Mongolia.

The exhibition, co-sponsored by the Archeology Institute, and the Museum and Exhibition Hall of Inner Mongolia, will last till May 10.
