Israeli Delegation Concludes Visit to Yunnan Province

A high-level business delegation led by Israeli ambassador to China, Itzhak Shelef, concluded its three-day visit to southwest China's Yunnan Province Wednesday promising cooperation in trade and agriculture.

Composed mainly of presidents, general managers and senior executives of more than 20 agricultural and high-tech companies from Israel, the Israeli delegation was met by Yunnan Governor Li Jiating during the visit.

The governor hopes that his province can expand cooperation with Israel to train more professionals and develop farming industry and biological resources in the province.

Shelef said the Israeli delegation came to the province to explore possibilities of cooperation in more areas. He said he believes the current visit will result in cooperation in economic, trade and agriculture areas.

The Israeli embassy in Beijing and the Yunnan Provincial Bureau of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation jointly hosted a business seminar during the delegation's visit. A small-sized exhibition displaying Israel's drip irrigation equipment was also held.

The delegation also visited Yunnan University, the Kunming High- tech and New Technology Development Zone and the Agricultural Sciences Academy of Yunnan Province.
