CCCMC Actively Responds to Anti-dumping ChargesWith the rise of international trade protectionism recent years have seen an increase in anti-dumping charges against China. Due to the active response to lawsuits by the Chinese parties, the metal, mineral and chemical industries that suffered heavy losses entailed from the anti-dumping cases have effectively protected the interests of Chinese enterprises. As disclosed by Chen Haoran, chairman of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals and Chemicals of Importers and Exporters (CCCMC) since 1995, the chamber has responded to 39 anti-dumping charges, of which we won 20 cases with some getting permission for further exportation, accounting for 71 percent out of the 28 cases settled. Therefore, China has scored a breakthrough in the unfair practice of EU in which China's status of market economy was not recognized and not given a separate tax rate in the handling of anti-dumping cases against China during the past 20 years. Also as reported is that the CCCMC department concerned will carry out earnestly the principle of "whoever responds to the anti-dumping case would benefit from it" when coming out a winner from the lawsuit in order to protect the interests of the company, and the market order will go to that company alone as well. It's learned that at present commodities of these industries mean part and parcel in China's total volume of export and import trade and enjoy an enormous potential in future. In recent years, the export volume of these industries has reached US$42.3 billion, a rise of 34 percent, accounting for 17 percent in China's total export. By PD Online Staff Deng Gang |
