Chinese Software Market to Value at 30 Billion Yuan

Chinese software market is to value at 30.3 billion yuan this year, a rise of 31.7 percent over 2000, as predicted by CCID Consultancy, the largest Chinese firm of consultation.

It will see a big boom in the software market of e-commerce application, security of network information and financial management of enterprises. These enterprises will quicken their steps in the industrialization and development of a scaled-economy through integration of capital and technological advantages.

A recent survey by CCID shows that China's macro-economy will still remain a positive momentum in 2001 and even take a turn for the better. The government policies for the development of software industry, authentication of software enterprises and control and management of software products will enter a substantial stage of implementation. The reform of traditional industries through modernization and informationization will be geared more closely with the Internet and e-commerce. The implementation and deepening of the government and enterprise online projects will further expand the needs of relevant software.

According to statistics, last year saw the sale of software reach an amount of 23 billion yuan, a rise of 30.7 percent over the previous years, of which 7.08 billion yuan came from platform software, 920 million yuan from middle software and 14.7 billion yuan from application software, accounting respectively for 32.1 percent, 4 percent and 63.9 percent of the total software market share.
