India Says Pakistani Planes Intrude Its Air Space

Defense sources said Monday that two Pakistani Military reconnaissance aircraft crossed the line of control in Kashmir and were engaged by the Indian Army.

The two planes crossed into Indian air space at 1420 p.m. local time in Chhamb sector of Jammu region in Kashmir and were forced to return after "they were engaged by our ground troops," the sources said.

This is the first report of air intrusion by Pakistan since the ceasefire in the disputed area declared by India nearly two months ago.

A protest was lodged with Pakistan for this air space violation, the sources added.

Meanwhile, the Press Trust of India (PTI) reported that four Indian security men were killed and eight others injured Monday when militants attacked an police camp near Indo-China border and ambushed a police vehicle.
