Guangdong Provincial People's Congress Ends
The fourth meeting of the Ninth People's Congress of Guangdong Province closed Monday.
During the nine-day conference, some 700 deputies examined and approved a provincial government work report, reports on economic and social developments in 2000 and on budgets for 2001 and reports of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Congress, people's court and procuratorate.
At the meeting, Zhang Guoying was elected chairwoman of the Standing Committee of the Guangdong Provincial People's Congress.
Lu Zhonghe, Li Jinwei, Tang Weiying and Wang Ning were elected vice chairmen of the Standing Committee of the provincial People's Congress, Li Hongzhong and Li Ronggen were elected deputy governors of the province.
