Bid Schedule
The following is the schedule for Olympics 2008 bid:
August 28-29, 2000: The executive committee of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) selects the last five bid cities.
August 29, 2000: The order for the candidate cities to deliver their final statements is to be decided by a draw. The statements are to be made on July 15, 2001 at the International Olympic Committee meeting in Moscow.
September 2000: The International Olympic Committee signs the Bid Procedure Document with the candidate cities.
December 2000: The executive committee of the International Olympic Committee listens to the first-time statement reports of the candidates.
Before January 17, 2001: The candidates turn in the bid reports and other papers.
February to April, 2001: The members of the evaluation committee of IOC inspect the five candidates.
May 2001: The members of the evaluation committee of IOC write the Inspection Report.
July 15, 2001: The International Olympic Committee meeting is held in Moscow and selects the 2008 Olympic host city from the five candidates.
