Chinese Vice Premier Attends Science-Themed Performance
"Science in China" theatrical performance held in Beijing
Chinese Vice Premier Li Lanqing attended a "Science in China" theatrical performance Friday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
A number of prestigious Chinese scientists, including some aged academicians, joined the performance, playing the violin or singing parts of Beijing Opera.
During the show, Chinese children presented flowers to 14 Chinese academicians, including researchers of China's first A- bomb and satellites.
The event was sponsored by leading Chinese science authorities and institutes including the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Ministry of Education, and the Ministry of Science and Technology.
