Stele Erected to Mark Friendship between Chinese & Japanese Workers

A stele was set up Friday morning in the China Labor College to mark the friendship between China and Japanese workers.

Wei Jianxing, chairman of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions (ACFTU) and Washio Etsuya, president of the Japanese Trade Union Confederation, jointly unveiled the stele, which was meant for further communication between trade unions and workers of both countries in the new century.

Wei, also a Standing Committee member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and a member of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee, stressed the great importance attached by Chinese trade unions to the friendly ties with the Japanese counterparts during a meeting with Washio Etsuya Thursday.
