POLO of Volkswagen to Debut in August

The Shanghai Volkswagen Auto Corp. will put a new type of family car "POLO" into market this August, only one month after it is to be formally introduced to the public by the German Volkswagen this July.

It's reported by Wen Hui Daily that the production of Santana in China was eight years later than its production handled by the German Volkswagen, Buick and Sail made their appearance in China three years later than they did in the United States and Europe. While the time difference this time for the emergence of POLO in China and Germany is only one month.

Hong Jiming, general manager of the Shanghai Volkswagen Auto Corp., indicated that this progress should be attributed to the synchronous development of new model by the Chinese auto industry and world-famous transnational corporations for the first time.

Over the past three years, the auto industry of Shanghai has turned out new products and renovated vehicle models and put them on the market every year, such as the Buick GLX / XinShiJi, Passat B5, Qilin concept car, Sail family car. Shanghai Volkswagen will put out a new model suiting Chinese market demand and conforming with advanced international technology each year in the future, said Hong.
