World Bank Approves Loan to Ethiopia for Medical Plants
The World Bank has approved a project to provide Ethiopia with a total of US$4.4 million in credits and grants for studies and conservation of indigenous medicinal plants, a news release from the bank said on Wednesday.
According to the release, the project aims to help identify and document indigenous medicinal plants used for the treatment of major human diseases with emphasis on tapeworm infections, mastitis and dermatophilosis.
It will also initiate studies for the safe utilization of effective medicinal plant remedies for the above-mentioned three major human diseases and three livestock diseases.
