Haier Marketing Managers Convene at Headquarters

Foreign Managers of Haier Gathered in Qingdao
A group of 38 foreign marketing managers from 21 countries were summoned for a forum this week in Qingdao, a scenic seaside city in east China where home appliance giant Haier Group is based.

The company has its foreign managers gathered to exchange successful marketing experience in overseas regions and explore ways of tapping world markets.

The 38 foreign managers represent Haier's 10 overseas factories, 14 international trade centers and 38,000 sales outlets worldwide.

The firm now commands a 25 percent share of the small refrigerator market in the US and holds significant stakes in the growing market for air conditioners in France and Italy.

The managers held discussions with Haier's senior leaders, designers, and domestic marketing managers on the topics of interaction, development, innovation and the establishment of a globalized Haier's sales network.

Haier, which operates design centers in the United States and Japan, aims to ensure that products designed for overseas markets cater to geographical preferences.

The group scored a global sales revenue of 40 billion yuan (US$4.8 billion) last year. Its products have been sold at the worlds top 20 chain stores. There are 175 sales dealers and more than 3000 salespersons worldwide promoting Haier's products.

At the convention, those foreign managers targeting consumers' individual requirements were awarded prizes and one of them won the "Global Best Haier Sales Dealer Prize."
