China to Select Top Ten Relics Exhibitions

China's State Administration of Cultural Heritage (SACH) plans to select ten best relics exhibitions nationwide which were organized during the past year.

The SACH will select the outstanding exhibitions among those applicants from all museums.

According to rules governing the selection, which is co-sponsored by the Chinese Society of Museology and China Cultural Relics News, any newly-arranged or renovated exhibition between January 1 and December 31, 2000, in the Chinese mainland are eligible to participate in the contest.

Competitors are asked to have creativity, great academic and cultural values, as well as delicate arrangement on exhibits, an official with the SACH said.

Besides the ten best awards, the SACH will also grant honors to those with excellent creativity, design, arrangement, making, technical employment, safety protection, promotion, public service, most visits and comprehensive returns.

A panel consisting of 11 scholars and relics experts will be in charge of the selection.

The annual selection of the top ten relics exhibitions started in 1997.
