54 Chinese Enterprises Approved as TIR Producers

The State Bureau of Quality and Technical Supervision announced on February 11 for the first time that 72 kinds of products in four categories, namely, TV set, air-conditioner, washing machine and refrigerator, produced by 54 Chinese enterprises as TIR products will be exempted from 3 years' quality inspection. To these 54 enterprises including Changhong, Chunlan, Haitang, Haier and others as is reported, qualification certificates were issued and to guarantee these a joint "Self-discipline Announcement" has been released by representatives of those exempted producers.

It is told products by the 54 enterprises with their name brands, product directions, nameplates and wrappings will all be exempted from any forms of inspection for their outstanding quality products produced, known to China's household electric appliance production. Market survey shows a sample quality average of over 90% by their TV sets, refrigerators, air-conditioners and washers in the past three years, at a level of world advanced and sold well in international markets.
