Cathay Pacific to Open Route Between HK, Delhi

Hong Kong's leading airline Cathay Pacific has announced that it will launch a new non-stop passenger service between Hong Kong and India's capital Delhi as from March 26.

Cathay Pacific made the decision after the conclusion of an air traffic rights agreement between Hong Kong and India on January 19.

The service will operate four times a week using Airbus A330- 300 aircraft.

"Delhi is an important addition to Cathay Pacific's passenger network and will help further strengthen Hong Kong's place as Asia 's leading aviation center," said a spokesman for the company.

The new service will add the company's passenger destinations in India to two. The airline is now operating four flights a week on the route between Hong Kong and India's commercial capital Mumbai.

In September last year, Cathay Pacific began operating freighter aircraft to Delhi.
