Bush's visit to Mexico, Fox will discuss with Bush ways to establish such a partnership and work out strategies for a short, medium and long-term development of bilateral ties, local press quoted Fox as saying. Bush is expected to pay a one-day working visit to Mexico on February 16, his first foreign tour since he assumed the presidency. The summit will help develop a constructive relationship between the two countries, Fox said. Other issues on the agenda include immigration, drug, crime, energy and trade, he said, adding that Mexican emigrants play an important role in the development of the United States, therefore, the two countries should pay more attention to solving the immigration issue. He also underlined the importance of international cooperation and establishing a multilateral anti-drug evaluation mechanism to better crack down on drug-related crimes, saying that neither of the two countries can solve drug problems alone. |
