Li Ka-shing Donates to Students in Blizzards

President of Hong Kong Cheung Kong Holdings Li Ka-shing lately made a donation of HK$10m to help more than 200,000 students go back to school in blizzard-hit Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang Autonomous Regions. The donation has been sent to the Liaison Office of the Central Government in Hong Kong, and later will be delivered to the State Ministry of Education.

The recent catastrophe in the two regions has caused huge losses, leaving over 700 schools and some 200 thousand students out of class. Learning of the grave situation, Mr. Li decided February 8 on a donation of five million HK dollars by his Hong Kong Hutchison Whampoa Group and his Li Ka-shing Foundation respectively.
