Detente, Islamic solidarity and international convergence in the region and the world are the main principles of Iran's foreign policy, Khatami said.

He noted that Iran has always supported world justice and peace and has long held that the oppressed nations should be granted all the denied rights.

In his speech, the Iranian president also reiterated that Iran strongly condemns terrorism and production of weapons of mass destruction.

As a victim of terrorism, Iran has always called for destruction of mass-destruction weapons and eradication of terrorism, Khatami said.
